After 11 years in food service I took a sharp turn to pursue web development through Awesome Inc's bootcamp. Over the past several months, I have pushed myself inside and outside the classroom to gain valuable skills to be an asset as a developer.
As a lifelong learner, if I'm not taking things apart, I'm usually putting things together. "I wonder what would happen if..." is common origin of most of my projects. I've built a coffee roaster from Goodwill appliances, and I'm currently learning to garden and build costumes for my kids.
It's a cliche that 'teamwork makes the dream work' but I've found that to be true leading groups regardless of group size. I believe in the power of collective success and giving everyone an opportunity to provide value in their work.
